Husband and wife team Philippe (french) and Charlotte Gueniau (danish) started homeware design company Rice back in 1998, in partnership with their Thailand based school friend Hans. Today, it is a smooth operation with the design work is done in Denmark, and the manufacturing in Thailand. Concious of their social responsibilities, all RICE products meet the international SA8000 standard for social and responsible corporate governance (no children's work and discrimination, adequate minimum wages, healthiness and safety at work etc.).
